The garlic festival attracts a 100,000+ crowd to the southern-most stop on Caltrain. It is a 90 minute drive from our place, and I kid you not, from more than 4 miles away up the highway, ac on, windows closed you could smell the garlic.
The area's top chefs show up for the cooking competition that even airs on Food Network. We sampled garlic bread, garlic calamari, garlic pesto pasta, garlic pepper steak sandwich, garlic sausage sandwich, garlic marinated mushrooms, garlic chicken stir fry, garlic shrimp scampi, and of course topped it off with garlic ice cream. It sounds scary, but even RJ enjoyed it:
Vampires beware.
